Help understanding/translating a Norwegian postcard
I am researching my grandmother's siblings. I have an old postcard addressed to my Grandmother wishing her a happy birthday. I believe it is from her oldest sister that I've can't find any information of after she left their small town of Stange, Hedmark, Norway. I have several questions.
1) It says Til Frk Johanne Johansen. I believe this was written in 1907. Why do they use Johansen (son of father's first name Johan) instead of Johansdatter? 2) What is the format for addresses in small farming communities? This card is addressed to go to Wethamer (sp?), Stange St.? Is Wethamer (sp?) the farm name? and what is the abbreviation St after Stange? Station, Parish ??? 3) Can I assume Julie is married to someone with the last name of Andreassen? and what is under her name? the name of her town? is it Sallien or Lallien. Her move-out record from the Stange Parish (https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/3571/203) dated May 1895 says she was going to Kristiania (Oslo)? Is this city near Kristiania? Patronymics were phased out ca 1850-1870 so that is why its Johansen instead of Johansdatter. No one in the Nordic countries uses datter anymore except people in Iceland who still legally require patronymics.
If you are sure that Andreasen is not her maiden name then yes it is probably a married name.
Kristiania was renamed Oslo in 1925.
Wethammer is a farm or a hamlet within Stange. The modern spelling is Vethammeren.
The word is Sallien. I don't know what that is referring to.
