I know DIVORCE is too common these days, but this is taking it a little too far

It appears that someone is adding DIVORCE to every single record they visit. Am I missing something? This isn't the first time I've come across it. What is up with this? Divorce 007Divorce 003Divorce 002Divorce 001I'm sure you have the picture... It is annoying. Hey! At least correct the format while you are there!!!

    Hello @retgijane retgijane

I see them all. There are not any "divorce" on my line.

You can add "divorce" in the marriage area.

In order for this "divorce" to be applicable to your ancestor, information would have to be entered into the "edit" area, underneath the word "divorce".

The following information I got by looking at the Latest Changes on the right had side of the person page. or Emeline Adeline Foley LCXX-X2P, "divorce" was added by FamilySearch.org.

Emeline Adeline Foley LCXX-X2P divorce by FamilySearchYou can edit the Divorce option. Click on Edit underneath the new Divorce option. Where you have circled in yellow.

    Divorce edit

If you select the divorce you can delete it on the lower right.

how to delete an option in marriage area.I hope this is helpful.

If the site asks for a reason why you are deleting divorce, you can put "No date, place, and no source"

Are these divorce entries all input by the same person? If so you might try contacting the person.

I have not had this problem on my lines.

    Hope this helps, Carol

More often than not, it's FamilySearch. But not always.

I've got that. I have deleted one or two before, but decided I should ask.

Thing is...I shouldn't have to. It shouldn't be there UNLESS there is some indication there WAS a divorce. Imagine my surprise when it appeared on my grandparents record!!!

I'm not going to delete them. That takes time and I don't like spending my time spinning my wheels. It needs to stop. Not that I think anyone will listen to me...Why aren't they going in and adding marriages to infants? Same difference.

I'm pretty sure that FamilySearch updated these, but that is not always the case. I'm away from my computer right now, but I left the ones attached in the question intact. You can input the ID numbers to see.

When I get back to my computer, I'll login to see if there is anything else I can add to clear up any confusion.

I looked up these, and it is the same user who added the Divorce notification and it wasn't FamilySearch. You can click on the user's name and send them a message to see what information they may have. The changes were made in April 2012

    Amy,

April 2012 was during the time that the nFS database was being converted into the current FS database. Although I can't remember what it looked like then (FS has changed it so often), the whole couple relationship area was being handled differently than today. I wonder if those empty Couple Relationship Events (i.e., Divorces) are some kind of error artifact of that initial startup on the FSFT…

This is what they all show: Last Changed: April 17, 2012 by Williams Foley1

Early use was available in April 2012 and it was available for all users by November 2012.

This could have been something from the old nFS software on these individuals.

If there isn't any evidence of divorce, these can be deleted.
