I'm trying to connect two ancestors to get back to the Mayflower. George Faunce K4V8-F54 (1785-1868) my gggrandfather to John Faunce K26N-8YH (1743-1787) my ggggrandfather. John is the son of Thomas Faunce and Sarah Bartlett.

My only proof is from "The book of Faunce" and I'm not sure the Society will accept that. I think I'm OK with George to my grandmother ,Dolly and and John back to Warren and Cooke. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

Mike; Probably the easiest way to approach this is to Goggle 'Mayflower' and check those names to see if you are related to any of them. They all have records in FamilySearch. Then just follow the descent lines.

Another option is to contact the Mayflower Society and pay the $75 to have them give you the lineage that they have in their records to date.

Hi Margaret, Thanks for getting back to me.

My line of Faunces goes back to John Faunce of The Anne. Dolly (Faunce) Wagner (my grandmother) d of John, s of George, s of John, s of Thomas, s of Thomas, s of Thomas, s of John (of the Anne). I've traced my Mayflower line from Richard Warren and Francis Cooke in "The Mayflower Births and Deaths, Vol 1-Vol2" back to the wife of the 3rd Thomas, Sarah Bartlett to Robert Bartlett who married Mary Warren d of Richard Warren. Sarah is John's (1743) mother. My problem is finding documentation between John 1743 and George 1785. I have found indexed sources in Family Search but the Mayflower Society does not accept indexed sources. Our Family History Library is closed (COVID) so I am unable to view the original.

Hopefully that clears things up. Any help is appreciated.

    Mike

It looks like you have it all already. You have the source linking John 1743 and George 1785. I would expect a linkage so close to the Mayflower landing would already be registered at the Mayflower society. I am going through the same situation, having recently been notified that I am a descendant. I encourage you to use their service, here is the link: https://www.themayflowersociety.org/join/preliminary-review-form
