I found two documents of interest. The marriage record I believe for James Conaghan and Rose McClosky. Yes, I know it says Cunningham but it may be what the clerk heard. All the other information matches with your given information and their ages. The license was issued 9 February 1891 in Schuylkill county. The second is from the Miners Journal, 25 October 1899. I don't know if this is your James however the 1900 census lists Rose as a widow. If this is true James may have died from this foot injury from gangrene, just speculation on my part.

If you know exactly when James died a search of the newspapers may by helpful. I searched the county death records and did not find a listing for him. Since Rose is buried in Frackville James may be buried there as well. Contacting the cemetery may help.Conaghan marriageMiners_Journal_Wed__Oct_25__1899_

Here is a better one. This is a tree in ancestry.com. If you click on James it shows him in the 1880 census with his parents. William and Mary

If he died in 1900 before the census then the only one before that is 1880. There is no 1890

There is a published index of the 1890 census for Schuylkill County. It is available on Ancestry, and has been extremely helpful in tracking my family. Description:

Ancestry.com. A Directory of the eleventh census of the population of Schuylkill County[database on-line]. Provo, UT: Ancestry.com Operations Inc, 2005.Original data: A Directory of the eleventh census of the population of Schuylkill County : giving the names and ages of males and females, published by cities, boroughs, wards, townships, precincts or towns, in connection with a business directory of the same, for advertising purposes : with the addition of marginal blanks for political character of adult males, and for reference to sufficient blank pages with each territorial district to record changes of residence, births, deaths, change of political belief, and other subjects of reference and memoranda in the different enumerated districts, together with a brief historical resumé of each district, statistics, etc., etc., etc..
