Directions for searching by place name can be found by going to the question mark in a circle at the top right of the screen and putting in the words "search by place." This will give you several ideas on how to go about searching for records in FamilySearch. Probably the easiest way is to use the world map, click on Germany, and go from there. The Research Wiki is also another great source. Put the words, "German records" in the search box and lots of information will pop up.

in order to find any record, you must know the precise locality where the event took place. Do you know where in Germany this person lived? If so, please share that information, and we can help you find out about getting the records.
