    Registration indexes held by GRONI

    • births registered from 1 January 1864 in what is now Northern Ireland
    • adoptions recorded in the Adopted Children Register Northern Ireland from 1 January 1931
    • deaths registered from 1 January 1864 in what is now Northern Ireland
    • registered non-Roman Catholic marriages from 1 April 1845 and all registered marriages from 1 January 1864
    • civil partnerships registered in Northern Ireland from 5 December 2005
    • World War II death indexes from 1939 to 1945

    For data protection reasons, if you are using the internet to search the register, some of the records will not be available to view. You will be able to access the following records if you go to GRONI online:

    • birth records over 100 years old
    • marriage records over 75 years old
    • death records (including World War II death records) over 50 years old

    As far as I was aware ...

    ▬ for England & Wales, 'FamilySearch' uses the Records from "FindMyPast".

    ▬ for Scotland, 'FamilySearch' only has until about 1875/1880, I think.

    ▬ For Northern Ireland, I am not certain.

    The FamilySearch records for England (& Wales) appear to extend to the following years:

    Births: 2008 (although there are relatively few records for 2007 & even less for 2008)

    Marriages: 2005

    Deaths: 2012 (but fewer records for that year than for previous years)

     

    The collection titles for births and deaths do not reflect their actual content and I have needed to ascertain the above by undertaking searches on the most common English name (SMITH) for various, individual years, then using the collection filter function.
