I need some info from a marriage record that is viewable only in a Family History Center.
I need some info from a marriage record that is viewable only in a Family History Center. I am currently outside the US. I just need the names of the couple's parents in cert # 742, FHL (DGS) 1562458 (7467934). it is the record of Samuel Stein and Chiah L Harrison, who were married in Kings Co NY on Jan 24, 1904. the catalog link is https://www.familysearch.org/search/film/007467934?cat=653538
thanks to anyone who can help!

I just wanted to point out that most FH Centers are closed to the public right now due to the pandemic, but the Los Angeles and Salt Lake family history libraries are offering online consultations where staff should be able to look up the record for you:

Hello @LeahS1 LeahS1 Most of us do not work at a Family History Center. However you can open this app and put your address in and find a FHCenter or Affiliate FH Partner near you somewhere in the world. Where ever you are.

I'll tag this for @Family History Research
Is Chiah a nickname?

thanks, Anitra! I'm currently in Israel, and there isn't any FH Center here. I called the FH Library in SLC to ask what I can do - they are closed but are taking phone calls. the person who answered the phone suggested that I would ask in the community (as I am doing here) because some of the members might doing their own research at a FH Center near them and be able to look up the info for me while they are there.
another possibility - I know that some vital records have a summary that can be viewed online in familysearch.org, even if the original document can only be viewed from a FH Center. but I have tried a lot of searches in "search records", and haven't been able to find the marriage record. (I was able to see summaries for other people named Samuel Stein, with a different bride, who got married in Manhattan, but none in Kings Co, which is Brooklyn.) and I did find this couple in the census records, and the birth record of their daughter. but I'm really interested in finding the names of their parents, and I think only the marriage record would show that.
"Chiah", usually spelled "Chaya", is a Hebrew name. (the ch is pronounced as in "Chanukah", not "cha-cha". it's a variation of "Chava", which is the original Hebrew for the name Eve.

@LeahS1 LeahS1
.
FYI
.
That particular Film:
.
.
is ONLY available to access/view, in person, at a "Family History Centre" of the Church, around the World (or, "Affiliate" Libraries, around the World)
.
As such ...
.
As the "Family History Library" (FHL) of the Church, in "Temple Square" in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA is still currently TEMPORALITY "Closed" (to the Public) due to the "COVID-19" Pandemic ...
.
And ...
.
IF, the "Family History Centres" of the Church (or, "Affiliate" Libraries) nearest you are still TEMPORARILY "Closed" due to the "COVID-19" Pandemic ...
.
Or, you just cannot get to a "Family History Centre" of the Church (or, "Affiliate" Library) ...
.
THEN, can I humbly suggest that you consider trying the following ...
.
As such ...
.
You could try one of the FREE 'On-Line' Consultations through the "Family History Library" (FHL) of the Church in, "Temple Square", Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
.
Here is some links were you can access/book one of those Consultations ...

.
.
I have seen/heard some good positive 'Feedback' from those who have used the service.
.
But ...
That said ...
.
Please be aware that you CANNOT be provided with a actual "Image" of that Record; but, you may be able to get (or, confirm) the information/details/data that you desire.
.
Good Luck.

Teresa - thank you! at the Los Angeles group, one of the volunteers was able to pull up a summary of the record! now I'm all set!
Brett - thanks! I don't need the actual document - I just needed some of the information from it (the names of the parents of the bride and groom). one of the volunteers at the Los Angeles online consultation group was able to pull up a summary of the record, and it had the exact information I needed.
I want to thank everyone who answered me here, and guided me on how to find the info I needed!
