Thomas Family of Mason County and Fleming County, Kentucky seeking suggestion on how to confirm.
My Great Grandfather was Darias or Derius Thomas from what is now Fairview, Ky near Ewing. His grave is found in Thomas/Wise cemetery. A cousin had DNA done and from Ancestry.com found a possible like to Darias' father being Nathaniel Thomas of Mason County who's wife was apparently Margaret or Peggy Highfield.
The challenge his how to confirm? 1790 census recreation doesn't show a Nathaniel Thomas but 1810 does. We've found a pension, but no direct naming.
Oh, and I'm tenacious but not terribly skilled at this.
