Validity of old IGI record, not index. (2002)
I am desperate and only have a couple of days. I have an old IGI index record. (2002) Not from an index itself. I know the old IGI records have a low validity. (I just found out where other incorrect information from my grandfather has come from. It had been a complete mystery for 30 years as to how this information was gained).
A marriage seems correct given what I know about the area and the husbands name and date. My document gives the Spouses surname. It does have a film number 455368 in Source Information but no other sources .At this time they just wanted page number and reference number. I haven't been able to find this same record. Other researches seem to be guessing. It may be incorrect for another reason. The husband is Thomas Bufton and the wife is Mary Thomas. Easy to make a subscribing error. There are about eight christenings for this couple with no surname for Mary.
Can someone hep please help with film number as a clue. I want to believe it but......
The LDS Library is closed.
kind regards.

FYI
.
I think that this is the reference to the Record that you are seeking:
.
That Film relates to Temple Work by Members of the Church.
[ Hence, reference to the "International Genealogical Index" ( I.G.I. ) ]
.
That Film is NOT 'On-Line",
.
From the 'FamilySearch' Catalogue ...
.
▬ NO circulation to ( NOR, 'On-Line' at ) "Family History Centres".
▬ Access to these records REQUIRES patron show proof that they may include his/her own lineage.
▬ Temple Recommend ( or, Bishop's letter to use material ) REQUIRED.
▬ Photocopying ( and, I would also assume "Digitising" ) NOT allowed.

Hi Brett
Thank you.
I was going to answer you but site playing silly bu.....again. Just got your other two messages.
Still having problems as though it can't make up its mind as to where it wants to send me.
I have to leave this now. I have a mountain of papers from 2002 - present. Just kept going back and checking all the sources. Tried again but nothing. I am supposed to be the expert (in my opinion) insofar as have done a mountain of research over 40 years and known to be pedantic. I don't like the idea that others have guessed and they look more proficient than me. i am doing the history as well of course. Book is 500 pages will have to be separated. There goes my retirement money. My book is coming out soon. I just wanted to add the latest info. http.www.proactivehrm.com/ancestoes.html
Kind regards
