Looking for North Carolina Land Records

I need to find land records for land in New Hanover County, North Carolina. Surname of owner: Newton between 1770s - 1820

    I'm not sure what resources you have searched already, but have you tried Wiki? 1. Search 2. Research Wiki. 3. Click "North America 4. United States 5. North Carolina. 6. Go to "Record Types" box on right side of screen and select "Land and Property". 7. This will give you an overview of the Colonial land purchases, etc...with links to NC Archives, indexes, public library, collections.

     

    Also, do you have a membership to the State Library of NC? If not, go to: www.nccardinal.org and apply to access to the state library system; they have a lot of information online.
