How do I correct an error in transcription of records where there is no option to "edit" the name? As an example, the death certificate for Sarah Frances Fisher LZ1D-8XM has been incorrectly transcribed as Sarah Tord but should be Sarah Ford.

See the record at

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q24D-6V3W?from=lynx1UIV8&treeref=LZ1D-8XM

The image of the record shows the name correctly as "Ford" but I can easily see how the volunteer confused the handwritten "F" with a "T".

    .

    Eric.

    .

    FYI

    .

Currently, you CANNOT make such a correction to this type of "Indexed" record.

Some you can, some you cannot.

    Perhaps, in time.

    .

    But ...

    That said ...

    .

    You can always:

    .

    EITHER

    .

    (1) 'FamilySearch' "Feedback" in the (New) "IDEAS" Forum

    .

Submit the matter, being an "Indexing" ERROR, as an "New Idea", in the (New) "IDEAS" Forum, under the "Category" of "Indexing", requesting that be ERROR be addressed/fixed (ie. corrected) by the Programmers/Engineers.

    .

    and/or,

    .

    (2) 'FamilySearch' "Support" Case

    .

Submit the matter, being an "Indexing" ERROR, as a 'FamilySearch' "Support" Case, under the "Category" of "Indexing", requesting that be ERROR be addressed/fixed (ie. corrected) by the Programmers/Engineers.

    .

    OR ... BOTH ...

    .

If, you like, BOTH - personally, I would do both.

    .

    Nothing ventured, nothing gained ...

    .

It may get fixed in due course.

    .

    I hope this helps.
