Dear @JosephBisazza JosephBisazza the margin note refers to the sentence (verdict) of the Civil Tribunal of Chieti where it recognises that Maria Giammarino is not the correct name of the deceased, but the correct one is Maria Andreoli. Here you can find, always in Antenati site, the original text of the sentence (3 pages). It's really hard to translate all the document but the most important part, I highlighted and here translated: "Matteo Viani asks for the amendment of the act of death of his mother Maria Andreoli, for being described with the wrong surname of Giammarino". This sentence recognises and confirms that Giammarino is the wrong surname.
I hope can help!

That is write with a civil court of 26 may 1884 was ordered that instead of Luigi Maria Giammarino should be read Maria Andreoli but I dont underestand what means!
I am sorry!

I am so thankful for your response. I have never come across this situation and it was definitely confusing. Also, it didn't occur to me that the court order would be on Antenati. What made me suspicious was that on her husband's death record it states that his wife was Giammarino. Also on their first child that died. After 1835 it was always Andreoli as the name on the children's death records. I would never have figured that out without your assistance. Thank you very much. Joseph Bisazza

You're welcome! It could be the court order in this case is not retroactive, but I don't know this detail.
Enjoy your research!
