"Infants" (ie. Children who died young) can OLY be "Sealed" to BOTH "Parents".
[ They CANNOT be "Sealed" to ONE Parent alone, regardless the circumstances ]

It is much more involved than this; but, that is the basics.

I hope this helps.

Hi Brett~
Thanks for your help. I was able to add the "No Children" info to my great aunt and uncle. I thought there was some way for it to make the "+Add Child" disappear under their Family Members/Spouses and Children!
I'm assuming you're a member of the Church since you mentioned "Church Policies"....For the Infant, I was asking about "Sealing to Spouse" (not Parents) under the Temple Ordinances. This is actually my baby boy, and it's showing an orange shaded temple icon. When you click on it, it says "Sealing to Spouse, Cannot Request--Not Available".
Above this, for all the other ordinances it says: "This person died before age eight and does not need this ordinance."
Why doesn't it say something similar?! "This person died before age eight and does not need to be sealed to a spouse"--or "does not need this ordinance"....and then make his temple icon gray--all work completed...in this life anyway?!

Glad it worked.

'No', that "+Add Child", NEVER goes away, even when that "Fact" of "No Children" is added.
Reason being that there MAY be 'things' that we are NOT aware of - 'skeletons in the closet'.
[ eg. there may have been a "Stillborn" Child that was NEVER talked about - that gets found later down the track ]
.
IF, the latter is the case; THEN, as far as I am aware, when you go to add a child, where a "Fact" of "No Children" has been applied, you are directed to that fact; and, I believe that you must "Delete"/"Remove" that fact, to be able to add a Child - Just my understanding, I have never tried that yet.
.
'Yes', I am a Member of the Church.
.
Now, I understand what you were referring to ...
.
That "Sealing to Spouse" for a Infant/Child who died young, REMAINS, regardless, as is.
That can be a little confusing ...
The "Orange" Colour can means "Not Avaialble"; but, can be, either, "Needs More Information"; or, "Not Available".
The latter being the case for, Infants; Children; and, even, Adults, who DID NOT, "Marry"; or, have a "Couple Relationship".
'Familysearch' REDUCED the "Colour" of the "Temple" 'Icons" DOWN to ONLY Four (x4).
.
The aforementioned is just the way it is at the moment in "FamilySearch' ...
Things can change ...
You can always submit "Feedback" (which now becomes an "IDEA") to 'FamilySearch'
All "IDEAS" are considered; but, NOT all "IDEAS" are accepted and/or implemented.
.
Do not get me wrong, I understand where you are coming from ...
.
You have to remember that there are MANY Users/Patrons (BOTH, Members of the Church; and, non-members) of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; plus, you also must be aware that there are many competing priorities in "Family Tree" (not to mention the Other Parts) of 'FamilySearch; and, there are limited resources available to 'FamilySearch' (Hence, why there are so MANY "Volunteers").
.
Chin up ...
Move on ...
For now ...
Things do change ...
Hence, why I keep going back and checking ...
.
Good Luck.

You will always get a "Not Available" on the SS ordinance for anybody if they have no spouse listed in the record (even if they died before the age of eight).
Although I've not actually tried to attach a spouse to a person who died under the age of eight. I would hope that would raise a data error on the record itself.
