I have an ancestor who was born 30 Aug 1910 and needs work done. When I request to do the work, it says "permission required". I am past the 110 year date and wonder why I can't request to do the work.

make sure that the date is considered to be in standard format

if that is not the case - you might have the problem you refer to.

    @Carolyn Stailey

    .

    FYI

    .

Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch' that may apply:

    .

Family Tree says I need permission to reserve ordinances. The 110-year policy does not apply.

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/family-tree-says-i-need-permission-to-reserve-ordinances-the-110-year-policy-does-not-apply

    .

Where it suggests that you check:

    ------------------

    • Make sure that all the required information appears for the individual, including marriage information for a couple relationship.
    • Sealing to Parents, make sure that all the required information is in the records of the parents as well.
    • Make sure a standardized date and place appear. To reserve temple ordinances, you must use standardized dates and places.
    • Sealing to Spouse, make sure the spouse has all of the required information to perform the ordinance. If the birth date of the spouse is within the last 110 years, you need permission.
    • If one person is living and the other is deceased, check for possible duplicate records.
    • If you are signed in as a helper, the system does not always see you as the closest living relative.
    • If just a year date appears, the system defaults to December 31 for that year. This can bring the 110-year policy into effect.

    ------------------

    .

    I hope this helps.

    Brett

This has been a recurring situation for awhile. If you add documentation or change some piece of information on the Detail's Screen, the name will then go through a 'refresh' and the status will change to "Request Ordinances" without the "Permission Required."

This question was in my in-box. My response is above beginning "This has been a recurring situation...." If there are suggestions for additional documentation, add them. If not, alter some piece of information on the Detail's Screen. (You can go back and restore it later) - A person just needs to do something to "refresh" the Detail's Screen after a change or addition. Then the "request permission" drops off.

I dropped the County designation, then "refresh".
