I am indexing US Louisiana Voting Records. 1867-1952, Part A, [MS6G-LNM]. 7th Precinct, 12th Ward. No Year. Oct 1. There are two entries with the Year of Birth as 1997. All other records indicate late 1800's as DOB. Last Names are Fredericks and Bonner.

Can someone check into this please. I marked the space as BLANK. I think this was human error. Without a year for the record I cannot even guess at a Birth Year. Thanks.

We are asked to type what we see. Of course 1997 is an error. But we must let the researcher come to that conclusion.

I think, and please someone correct me if needed, that it would also be good to look at the project dates and instructions. The thought I have is that the programming will probably allow you (if there is instructions to index information outside of the date range of the project) to put in 1997 in stead of 1887.

The alternative is that the project will restrict data on the year, in which case an error message will appear when you try to submit the batch where one or more of the fields contains a year outside of this project's date ranges (in your example, 1997 would be outside of the 1867-1952 range). In this case, meaning that the instructions are only allowing information within the date ranges, it probably would be best to [Ctrl + B] the field.
