Red exclamation point does not disappear after tagging photo

Why, when a photo is clearly tagged, doesn't the red exclamation point disappear...even after the page is refreshed.

The red exclamation point appears when memories are uploaded to an individual's memory tab. The created tag is the full picture. You need to remove that tag and then retag appropriately to get the red exclamation point to disappear. If you upload to the gallery and then tag from there the red exclamation point does not display. I am not sure why this was implemented but because of the feature, I personally upload to the gallery and not to the individual memory tab. Just my take

Yes, when I hover over the picture their names already pop up and they are also listed as the people the picture is tagged to. But still the exclaimation point!...no one else in the picture

I have the same problem with the red exclamation point in both photos and documents that are images. I have to retag the person, then remove the duplicate tag.

Do the exclamation points go away after the second tagging? I don’t think mine do.
