This short video provides wonderful insight to the freedmen Records ... I had no idea the collection held so much info! I wasn’t aware that they started schools and they started a process of tracing African Americans family history back then. They would ask the former slaves about who they were with and where they were from, what their names were and who their family was ... 🤷🏻♀️i dont know🤷🏻♀️ if that’s common knowledge or not but I certainly never knew that.
