The situation here is Arabic names. You can read about the 5 components of Arabic names here:

My best advice is index everything in the given name fields for these Arabic names and let the researcher figure it all out. Their names do not fit neatly into our system of given name and surname because of patronymics and location indicators.

 

The PI tells us: If you are not sure whether a name is a given name or a surname, type it in the Given Names field.
