Need to remove an accepted ancestor record without causing harm to that record, and create a new per
When adding an ancestor, I possibly accepted in error or without careful thought, an existing record from a list of suggestions. Since I now "share" this record with another person, that person has subsequently linked ancestors that I am not convinced is correct for my tree. In order to preserve the integrity of my tree, I think I need to delete that record I accepted and create a new one. I don't want to cause harm to the deleted record since it belongs to someone else. Can you advise how to safely do this?

Here is some info on correcting parent/child relationships
keep in mind however - there is no "ownership" of records in this system.
we all are collaboratively working n a single massive database of billions of records. any given record is not "owned" by anyone else. we all share access to all the records.

@karen agerstrand santora Could you share the PID of the person you need help with? I'd be happy to look at it and let you know how best to work on it.

Thank you for the offer. PID LXW6-R2R I feel is good fom her (Brita Kristina Eriksdotter) going forward to the present with relationships. This is for sure, my family. My family knowledge pretty much ends with Brita. So, the issue is who Brita has been linked to for her parents and subsequently, anything prior to that as well. The questionable parent PIDs are 9HV4-8GN (Cajsa Lisa Jonsdotter) and 9HV4-C7R (Okänd). If you look at the Person record for 9HV4-8GN, there is a second husband listed with PID KZQR-FBJ who I also question. None of the parental names really fall in line with how Swedish children were named.
Swedish records are difficult because of all the people with the same name living in the same place. Easy to get them confused.
I have not been able to find documentation that confirms the parent-child relationship others have made for the first PID LXW6-R2R. I have used both Family Search and Ancestry. If anything, I find contradictory information using a Swedish site called Kräken.com which is limited to Västerbotten county (the one needed). That site lists totally different people as Brita's parents. But here again, I have not been able to find documentation (census, birth records) to confirm that either. I used to be able to confirm using a Swedish site called Riksarkivet but I seem to have lost my skill at using this site.
With Kräken, the parents of LXW6-R2R are Kristina Danielsdotter (3/17/1782 - 12/30/1858) and Erik Andersson (7/20/1784-1/2/1848). Their marriage was 5/8/1814. Both born in Svärdsjö.
With the way Swedes named their kids, the names seem to be consistent with what I find on Kräken.
This all leads me to feel like I should rebuild with new PIDs beginning with the person Brita Christina Eriksdotter and not use the PID LXW6-R2R already given to her. But if I start removing parent-child relationships, I am concerned I will mess up the records already built in Family Search. So the problem becomes at what PID do I safely delete parent-child relationships and start to rebuild creating new PIDs rather than accepting a PID already created by another person.
And THAT is why I am trying to be careful before I do anything.
I really appreciate your input.
Regards
Karen Santora
