Short Answer: 'No'.
.
That is where us, the Users/Patrons, come in, doing our Genealogy/Family History.
.
That is our 'Job', to identify the individuals/persons; and, their Families; then, once identified, "Merge"/"Combine" all the "Duplicate" 'Sets' of Parents together, where appropriate.
.
We have been doing this for MANY Years.
.
'FamilySearch' provides us, both, the "Records"; and, the "Tools", to do so.
.
'FamilySearch' is the "Facilitator", not the 'Worker" - that is us.
.
And, as far as the 2012 individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', MANY of those were submitted by Members of the Church through various means over the proceeding years [eg. "International Genealogical Index" (IGI); Pedigrees; Family Group Sheets; and, more], which culminated into "New.FamilySearch" the predecessor to "Family Tree" - many of which were "Duplicates" from their Descendants from all around the World.
.
The "Records" relate to AN individual; hence, why for Families with MANY Children, there is a "Duplication" of Parents.
.
It is our 'Job'; as, Users/Patrons, to sort the 'wheat from the charff' ...
.
'FamilySearch' has been providing the "Records" for countless Years; and, they have been continually improving the "Tools", that we need, making it easier for us.
.
But ...
That said ...
.
Today, even though there are move "Records" available to us; and, more 'Pedigrees' available for 'Research Purposes', it is still something that takes time.
.
Life was not meant to be easy ...
.
Whereas, 'FamilySearch' (and, the many other "Websites") have made our 'Job' a lot more easy, of late.
.
But, it is still a 'Work in Progress' ... it takes time
.
It takes determination and perseverance ...
.
Never give up, keep on keeping on ...
.
Do not expect 'FamilySearch' to do OUR 'Job'.
.
The "System" can NOT make the necessary "Decisions" that we make.
.
I for one, DO NOT want the "System" to make the "Decisions" on my behalf, I for one, DO NOT want the "System" to make the "Decisions" on behalf of a 'Human'.
.
Such is up to us ...
.
Just my thoughts.

When FamilySearch was started it began using people submitting 4 generation charts so yes when you see 2012 entries that are duplicate (brought over from New FamilySearch) it is often from those 1st submissions and we just need to merge them into 1 profile. The program now is helping stop this duplication from continuing.
Also you may find extracted records such as marriage records where there is just a husband and wife from a batch of extracted marriage records or sometimes it is from Christening records and you see parents and child. These too need to be merged with the individuals as they exist in famillies. I have had parents of 10 children all listed individually as christening records and had to merge all 10 fathers and mothers. That is the old system that we are still trying to correct and update in the new system. Seeing that 2012 date and it listed as FamilySearch contributor is a signal it is from the old system. Just make the correct merges when you see these.

For years I have been doing what you stated
At 81 years of age and not many years left due to bad health it is something I have to stop. I need to use my remaining time wisely
Hopefully others also spend a lot of time.
