Joining Trees
My sibling set up a tree and I set up one too. Two questions: Is there a compare function within FS? Can we merge our two trees into one?

@HermanHudson From your question, I assume you are a relatively new user of Family Tree. @Nyx773 pointed you towards the way to share a section of Family Tree where you and your sibling can see the same living people. I'm going to take a step back and make sure you are aware of a couple of very important features of FamilySearch Family Tree.
Family Tree is designed go to be a single, unified, wiki-style tree containing all people who have ever lived and left some documentation behind. As part of this design, all deceased people should only have one profile in Family Tree. All users can see all of these deceased profiles. The compare function you are looking for is the Possible Duplicates routine which automatically places a flag on any profile for which a possible duplicate has been found. It's a bright red dot labeled as such under Research Helps.
When either you or your sibling has created a profile for a deceased person, the other just uses that same profile as do your few thousand close and distant relatives on the site. If a profile already exists in Family Tree for a deceased relative, do not create a new one.
Sometimes the routine will not find all duplicates if one or both have incomplete information.
Regarding living people (or profiles marked as living), there is a host of privacy laws world-wide that require FamilySearch to keep living profiles private. Any profiles you create that are marked living will only be visible to you. You sibling cannot see them. You cannot compare them between your accounts and you cannot merge them. Family Group trees allow you to have a private space that you and your sibling can share in which the two of you can create, edit, and see the same living profiles. These will be different profiles, with different IDs, from the profiles only you can see even if they are for the same people.
