Errors
I was looking at the family tree for Louis and Lena Berman, who are the grandparents of my mother, [name removed for privacy of a living person]. There are errors in this tree. My mother was born [birth date of living person removed], and as of today, 29 March 2026, she is still alive. How do I correct the misinformation?

The Family Tree is fully open-edit. Anyone signed with a free account can edit. And for living people who are accidentally marked as deceased, it's a quick matter to mark the record as living, with evidence ("My mother; I spoke to her this morning" is more than sufficient) and submit. The process is usually very quick - within 24 hours in my experience.
FamilySearch takes the privacy of the living very seriously. You will likely find that a moderator will come along in a few minutes and remove your mother's full name and DOB to protect her privacy.1 -
@Ruth2845 Aine is correct; once you submit the change, it happens fairly quickly. Please let us know if you encounter any issues with the change.
Mod note: Because Community is an online public forum, it can be viewed by anyone, anywhere. To protect the privacy of a living person, your post was edited to hide her name.
