Merging difficulty

I am trying to merge two people in the same family. Both people are deceased. Both profiles say that there are no duplicates. I copy one ID to my clipboard, and when I click on Merge by ID, it puts something completely different in it. I can't find any place where I can enter the ID's manually. I tried turning off the experimental feature and it still happens that way.

If you are comfortable sharing the PIDs for the two profiles, someone else can take a look.

@LReed101 I agree, it would be good to see the profile numbers you are talking about so that we can help. I often merge records and it seems very simple to suggest that you go "old school" and just use the merge by ID button in the Tools section. Start in the profile of the person you wish to save, press the merge by ID button and a box will pop up and you can manually add the ID number of the duplicate person you wish to merge right there. Maybe this simple explanation will help, but please come back if you need more assistance!

    You say:

I can't find any place where I can enter the ID's manually.

On the Details page of one of the individuals, select Merge By ID, which will provide the box where you can type in the ID of the other individual, as illustrated by the screenshot below.

Try using your own example, of course - not mine!
