Since System Update of Monday 15 Dec 2025 at 6pm _ Something Went Wrong _ Attaching Sources & Hints
Today, the Next Day, since the System Update of Monday 15 December 2025 at 6pm (My Local Time) keep getting the Error that "Something Went Wrong" while trying to Attach Sources & Hints.
This is for any person.
For both Sources & Hints
It appears to be connecting, the attaching screen just starts to appear, then a split second later, the "Something Went Wrong" screen appears.
Yesterday, signed out, of Family Tree, just before the Second Update was completed.
After signing in Today, can't attach Sources or Hints.
Do not want to, nor should I have to, clear Cookies and Cache.
Is anyone else having the same issue?

Update
Now, for a Person, when Search and FamilySearch is selected, get the same "Something Went Wrong".
Exactly the same as above, appears to be connecting, the search screen just starts to appear, then a split second later, the "Something Went Wrong" screen appears.
It definitely appears something is wrong since the System Update of Monday 15 December 2025 at 6pm (My Local Time)0 -
Please let us know what operating system and browser you are using and whether they are up to date.

@SerraNola
It continues as as per my last comment.
Closing down Family Tree & Restating Computer makes no difference, no matter how many times.
It has been going on all day.
Don't know; but, think it could relate to my post yesterday.0 -

Update
This is interesting.
Had been using FireFox for some time since the constant lag time (ie. Wait, page taking time) in both, Chrome & Brave.
Just tested in both, Chrome & Brave, not getting "Something Went Wrong" in those browsers.
Yet definitely getting "Something Went Wrong" in FireFox.
All x3 browsers are up-to-date.
Operating System still Windows10.
Did change some setting in the Computer; but, did not think that should have affected FireFox, may need to revisit.
FireFox has been so much less problematic than both, Chrome & Brave of late.0 -
@Jenny.B I would imagine that the latest FS update uses browser technology in a way that the latest Windows-10-compatible Firefox version does not support.

Update
Just checked the changes to settings in the Computer, they made no difference, had no bearing, on FireFox.
FireFox was working perfectly fine yesterday prior to the System Update of Monday 15 December 2025 at 6pm (My Local Time).
Whereas today since the System Update of Monday 15 December 2025 at 6pm (My Local Time), FireFox is experiencing the "Something Went Wrong" when Search and FamilySearch (others work fine) is selected - don't even get to attach a Source.

Despite the fact, that the general Microsoft Support, for Windows10 will no longer be supported, FamilySearch Updates should still take into account all browsers, including FireFox; as, countless Users around the world will still be using the Operating System of Windows10 without the general Microsoft Support. Many Users around the world cannot upgrade their computers to Windows11, nor can they afford a new computer.0 -
@Jenny.B I honestly can't see that it would be practical for FS to maintain such a wide range of test environment combinations, and especially where unsupported software is present. If they can't test it, they can't support it.
Firefox is 100% supported, but only in software environments that are compliant with the link I posted above.

If FamilySearch, cannot provide for the browser, of FireFox, with Windows10 (Even the Unsupported version), yet provide for the browsers of Chrome & Brave, in its programming, then all hope is lost.0 -
@Jenny.B I'd suggest it's much more likely that FS on Chrome on W10 happens, by chance really, still to work. It may well stop doing so with some future FS update.

Although this Knowledge Article is 7 August 2025, FireFox is supposed to be a supported browser in FamilySearch.
Which internet browsers and operating systems are compatible?
Again, if FamilySearch, cannot provide for the browser, of FireFox, with Windows10 (Even the Unsupported version), yet provide for the browsers of Chrome & Brave [& Safari], in its programming, then all hope is lost.0
