@Alice28435 do you mean you've been getting notifications/messages here in FamilySearch Community, and/or notifications from the main FamilySearch site, and/or chat notifications indicating that other users want to collaborate with you? If you let us know what sort(s) of message you want to switch off, we can advise you what to do.

A few weeks ago I had someone message me to sell something related to family history. I ignored and deleted the message and I haven't heard from them since. Is there something we can do to report such messages?

@kpech do you mean someone from FamilySearch (or someone using a FamilySearch-supplied messaging route such as FamilySearch Chat) contacted you with this unwanted sales message?

If so, and it happens again, I would personally do the following:

a) If the message is in FamilySearch Chat, use Chat's Report Abuse option.

b) Otherwise, I wouod report the matter via FamilySearch Support (visit https://www.familysearch.org/en/fieldops/familysearch-support-contact-us and click on the map for your region).

However, if the message was from outside FamilySearch, I'm sorry but this forum probably can't help.

If it happens here in the FamilySearch community, which has a separate messaging system than FamilySearch, report it here and we will contact you in a private message to get the information from you.

If you have received an inappropriate message in Chat on the Family Tree app, hit the three dots at the top right of the message and take the Report Abuse option.

But do remember that if anyone wants to collaborate with you in Family Tree, or has a question about something you've put there, they are perfectly entitled to send you a Chat message, whether they know you personally or not; you, in turn, are perfectly entitled to ignore the message completely.
