I search for images from "Khotyn povit Consistory office" creator in the following way: Search → Images → More Options → "Khotyn povit Consistory office" in the Creator field. I receive only 131 results, which is less than half of the total archival files from collection 605, inventory 1  that have been scanned.

Could it be checked whether there is a malfunction, incorrect image attribution, or another issue? The results appear very random. For instance, records of births, marriages, and deaths from 1851 are available for some villages but not for others. Meanwhile, in another year - say 1848 - such records are visible for villages that are inaccessible in 1851. This clearly does not seem to be a copyright matter or any restriction imposed by the Archive, since the availability of years appears entirely random.

Here are some examples:

  • DGS 110574797 and 110575340 can be accessed
  • DGS 110573678 and 110574841 can't be accessed

I really hope this gets fixed soon—there are so many valuable records waiting to be explored.

We are aware of this problem occurring in many collections in Bessarabia. It has been reported to engineering as one issue and we hope to have a resolution soon. Thank you for taking the time to provide DGS numbers.

These are collections from State Archives of Chernivsti Region (Ukraine). The missing DGS (about 160 of them) are not available for at least a year (and probably even longer), so this is an old problem.

These records are not included in a catalog collection, so it is unclear whether the issue is related, particularly as you mentioned they have been missing for over a year. To my understanding, this region of Ukraine was formerly part of Bessarabia, and the previously reported records were also consistory records. We will continue to investigate this matter and work towards a resolution.

This is definitely not related to the recent issues with restricted access from the Moldovan State Archive. These records are from the Chernivtsi Oblast Archive (Ukraine), and access to some of them was randomly restricted long before the problems with records from the Moldovan Archive began.

If there is a need for additional volunteers to help with describing and cataloging records, I would be happy to contribute my skills and assist with this work.
