Using a photo in Memories to replace generic silhouette

Newbie here. I added photos to Memories of my closest family members. It's unclear to me how I can use a photo in Memories as the main picture on that Person's page, instead of having that generic pink or blue silhouette. Thanks in advance!

    @Susanne4333

    You have already completed the first step by uploading the image you want into your Gallery. Next step is to go to your ancestor's Person Page and click the pink/blue silhouette.

    You have the option to "Select From Gallery." Click the image you want, adjust the image, then "Save."

    HOWEVER, I would add one more action.

    Go into your Gallery and use the Tag feature to tag the images you uploaded to the correct ancestors. This way, whenever you open an ancestor Person Page, everyone can see those images when they click the Memories Tab on a Person Page. Also, those images will immediately pop-up as options for the profile pic when you click the pink/blue silhouette.

    To tag:

    Go to your Gallery and select the image you want. Click to open that image in the Memory Viewer Tool.

    You can click on a face, or anywhere in the image, and you can add a "tag" to you ancestors. The tags will appear in the right side-bar. Once you have "tags" in place, these photos will then be seen on those ancestor's person pages.

    The advice from @AmberML1 is good. I would just propose one adjustment:

    Since it is indeed helpful to tag the image for the person, it will be simpler to add the tag first. If you do that, then when you go to the ancestor's Person Page, the process of setting the portrait for that person will be simpler. You can then choose among the photos that are attached to the person; that will often be a much smaller and focused list of photos than working through your entire Gallery to find the photo you want to use for the portrait.
