Why no Hungarian indexing?

I'm wondering why there aren't any current indexing opportunities for Hungary. Seems only Spanish speaking countries - I suppose they're focusing only on this for now? Such a shame.

FS needs to have a contract with the record holder(s) before anything can be indexed. Until they have a contract with the Hungarian holders, you will not see anything that is available.

For a few years before the AI change, I'd been working on Finnish records. I don't know what they're doing with all the foreign language records now, because AI isn't doing them and I can't imgagine it ever being able to do them (Finnish, anyway). I guess those countries we've been doing before just aren't getting their records indexed at all.

It is my understanding that records were and are being indexed withthe help of AI. But it seems that many nations are restriciting access to the records. This seems to be true for both Hungary and Finland which shows the restrictions began on Nov 3, 2025. I would advise that you continue to check back with familysearch as at any time negotiations or circumstances will make many of the records sought back into digital access of the records familysearch has already done and perhaps more.
