You could have the children fill out a 4 generation pedigree chart and a family group sheet for their family(s). Family Search has printables and the National Genealogical Society has free charts that can be filled in on their home computers.

Thank you. I do have the 'My Family' booklet that we could use.

There is an activity defined in the Friend Magazine in 2015 which is excellent for Primary age children. I would suggest google "family history mystery activity friend magazine" for details.

@JanTropp We take the Activity Day boys and girls to the FamilySearch Center each year in November/December. Prepare for it with parents, to make sure they all have a login. But then we arrange for extra Consultants to be there (2 kids per adult works well). We help them sign in and start guiding them through their tree. Some are more into exploring. Not too long into it one will find the Compare-a-Face and another will find other activities, then one of the other kids wants to know how they got there and they start teaching each other. Ultimate goal is for the 11-year-olds (who will be going into YM & YW in Jan) to walk away with printed family ordinance cards.

There are also some great ideas on the FamilySearch Blog.
