FS only supports its websites on the current and most recent browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) and the current and most recent OS versions. This will mean in practice that changes are likely to have been tested only in these environments.
The most likely scenario here is that the latest Full Text Search version uses browser technology in a way that is not supported on the software you are currently using.
Assuming you are not in a position to upgrade the operating system, I would suggest you first check your browser version, upgrade that to a supported level, and then test again.
If that doesn't help, I am afraid you're unlikely to be able to use Full Text Search on that laptop.

ShelleWells Full text search has worked fine for me since the beginning and I have a MacBook Pro. Full text search is now an option in the Search drop down list. It is no longer a lab product. Try accessing it from the regular Search menu.
