Will the ability to change dates be restored?

On a profile, there is a sources tab showing a date, a title, and the date created. Often, the first date is auto-populated but when it is not auto-populated, a manual update is required. Recently, when adding a date and saving, the update is not preserved.

N.B. I have tested this with LVDG-8SC and G9N8-CQ4 and testing with two technigues (using the EDIT link with detail view or the ADD link).

You may be running into a minor glitch I have not bothered reporting.

I have found that sometimes with I open the source either by clicking +Add (the date) or by clicking Edit, type in and standardize the date, then click Save, the source edit box closes and the date is not saved.

In order to get the date to save, after I click on the standardized version of the date, I have to click somewhere else in the Edit pop up window. It doesn't matter where, but it has to deactivate the text box for the date. Then it saves just fine.

This seems to be a sporadic effect. I'll play around and see if I can record a short video of this happening. First I'll have to find a profile that has the source date missing. That might take a while.

Each source has an "Event Date," which is the date that is shown at the left. I assume that this is what you are referring to as the "first date." I 'm not seeing any problem with saving that date, either as I initially create a source, or if I add the date afterwards. I have done both of those this morning, and the date is saved.

@Gordon Collett I can confirm that I have occasionally encountered the same glitch.

I found some sources that needed dates but the routine is working fine today. As I said, it is quite sporadic. The first few times it happened I just assumed I had accidentally hit the cancel button rather than the save button. But it still happens on and off even when I was being very careful with my aim.

I tested again being sure to validate the date (i.e. make sure that the populated field has the calendar icon). This worked although I am sure I have never needed to be so assertive before. In the past, just adding a date and clicking save was sufficient. No big deal, as long as there is a method that works, I am happy.
