Tag a Source to a marriage

I have a newspaper clipping that documents a marriage for 9D5F-4M3. I would like to [tag] the source to the Marriage Event so that it will show as a source for her marriage in 1891. See attachment. There are (0) sources for the Marriage Event and no link to "Add Source" to the event.

Is there another way to tag this source to the Marriage Event???

I would like to suggest:

1) adding "Marriage" to the available tag choices.

2) modify the marriage Event [screenshot attached] to have an "Add Source" link

Thank you for the help.

I know this is really non-obvious, but you need to attach the source to the Couple Relationship, not to (or as well as to) the individual profiles. You can then tag the source against the Marriage Event on the Couple Relationship.

You can edit the Couple Relationship via the pencil icon next to the Marriage on one of the profiles (this is not that clear either, in my view).

To add illustrations to @MandyShaw1's explanation:

Click in the red box to add sources to the Couple Relationship. After adding sources, then click inside the green box to open this pop up:

When you click on Tag Sources, your list of choices will only be those sources listed in the Couple Event pop up:

You can also tag existing sources from the Family Member section by clicking anywhere in the green box:

Thanks @Gordon Collett for the explanation. So how do I Tag a Source that's already listed in the Sources Tab to the Marriage? Doesn't seem to work that way…

You can’t. The source has to be on the couple event. It’s a shortcoming that gets commented on periodically. I hope the engineers do something about it someday.

The Source Box often comes in handy when duplicating a source across to the couple relationship.

I submitted an Idea some time ago suggesting that the Sources tab should handle both profile and relationship sources (and don't get me started on child/parents relationship sources, which are untaggable and effectively pretty much invisible). So far I have had no feedback on my Idea, but I am not optimistic given the UI's general treatment of relationships as far less important than profiles.

I have a mental picture of 2 extra FT 'perspectives', a relationship view (where you could see the person's marriage and divorce events, spouse, child, and parent relationship sources/tags, etc. properly and all at once) and also a source Record display where you could for example view a census household's current attached FT profiles and relationships all in one place.
