Bug report: Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, United States is not correct.

The format for a U.S. location is the smallest entity such as a town or city, COUNTY, state, and country.

The island of Oahu is NOT a county. Honolulu County covers the entire island of Oahu and other minor islets surrounding Oahu. Key populated areas include the capital city of Honolulu, Kailua, Pearl City, Wahiawa. The correct format for Honolulu is "Honolulu, Honolulu, Hawaii, United States". Please make corrections to the Standardized format.

    Good afternoon, @Leroy Roberts
Rather than General Questions, the FamilySearch Places group is a better place for your report.

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/68-familysearch-places

    Or, file a report directly

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-correct-or-edit-a-place-in-familysearch-places

    Hope this helps.

It's not a bug. It's an administrative decision. See: https://www.familysearch.org/en/standards/admin/place-reports/?region=70&country=1

    Where FamilySearch's place guidelines state:

With few exceptions, states are subdivided into counties.

    • Alaska is divided into boroughs.
    • Hawaii is divided into islands with county names as alternate names.
    • Louisiana's parishes are classified as counties and have alternate names that identify them as parishes.

Since the counties in Hawaii are included as alternate names, you can easily use them instead if you prefer. In fact, there are all sorts of alternatives to use instead of Oahu if you wish as can be seen in the Names section here: https://www.familysearch.org/en/research/places/?focusedId=3948003

When you use on of these alternates, the place name entry will look, for example, like this:
