This record is indexed and should be editable, but isn't

There are names indexed in the record that are incorrect and need to be changed. The image is viewable by logged in patrons but the edit button is greyed out. And if you pull up the record in Historical Images, it says that it isn't indexed:

Is there a way to edit these names?

I would say no.
Many of those Italian records were indexed, but the index has been detached, making it ineditable. The error messages indicate the record has been removed, but that's not quite accurate.
I shared an example with someone a few days ago. Let me find that conversation again.
This page - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6P4W-KXD - 3rd record down on the left. There is a trace of an index, complete with errors, from before the record was detached, but it is no longer available and cannot be edited. It can be found in a search, at least for now.

Áine, when the index was previously attached, was it in the old viewer or in the Shared Image Viewer? It's possible record to image linkage is being lost during migration. I will find out if it is intentional or an error?

@SerraNola Thanks for asking.
I've only seen it since it was detached, so I don't know which viewer. Based on some of the errors I've noticed, it looks like an AI-index, and it's an entire collection - everything from the Diocesi di Monreale, Palermo, Sicily, Italy. It's currently listed as a browse-only collection:
https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/collection/2046915I had searched from a profile in the tree and the search results included that index.
If I click on the URL of the name, as we normally do to access the index display, I get the message that the record has been removed. If I click on the camera icon, of course, I go to the page from the register, which refers to it as an unindexed record.I've been using the scraps of remaining index as a finding aid, making the process of browsing those registers a bit faster.

Yes, I checked out the collection and saw that record details are removed. It's a little different than what @Cousin Vinny reported, but for both the index cannot be edited. I'll see if I can get some answers.
