BUG REPORT: Genealogies: 'View Sources' button just produces login prompt every time
I don't know how long this has been happening, as I don't do this often, but I have just been trying to use the 'View Sources' button on various Genealogies entries, e.g. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:5:7VYR-SGL?lang=en, and in all cases instead of showing the relevant View Sources details (the link for my example being https://www.familysearch.org/en/service/gen/sforge/hints-view.html?personId=/ark:/61903/2:5:7VYR-SGL), a new login prompt appears; after logging in (I have tried both via Google and direct), the FS home page appears.

They must have fixed the problem. The tree appears now.

@David Alan Webber, the tree shows, but when you click 'view sources' in the 'person details' column on the right, I also get a log-in screen prompt. I'm using Windows and Firefox, but I'm doubtful that's the cause. Are you able to get the sources link to work?
@MandyShaw1, I wonder if this is an issue only with the collection these trees come from— "Computer-Generated Trees". Have you seen this bug with other collections?

I tried, using Windows 10 and Chrome, and was redirected to the Community to log in. Of course, I was already logged in on the Community site where I had just read Mandy's post. And, the Genealogies are NOT resident on the Community site.
I looked in some other collections, but they didn't have a Sources option to test.2 -
It is only certain types of Genealogy that have the View Sources button, perhaps only Computer Generated Trees, I will check this tomorrow. The key point is that the View Sources button shows the FS Historical Records that this Genealogy entry and its related entries derive directly from (and the FT profiles to which these Records are attached), and clearly many Genealogies have none of this stuff because they aren't based on FS Records at all.

Update - As I expected, I can't find any type of Genealogy other than Computer-Generated Trees that shows a View Sources button.
What is not clear is whether all Computer-Generated Trees are by definition based on FS Records (so making the View Sources button, as I described it in the previous post, useful), or, if not, whether the button is present.
When this function is actually working, you can use it in 2 useful ways:
https://www.familysearch.org/en/service/gen/sforge/hints-view.html?personId=2:5:<arkid> - lists Records and FT profiles for the specified Computer-Generated Trees Genealogies entry (e.g. Census Tree entry) and for linked entries (e.g. other members of the census households covered by a Census Tree entry)
https://www.familysearch.org/en/service/gen/sforge/hints-view.html?personId=<pid> - reverse lookup to list Genealogies entries linked in this way to the specified FT profile (you can then see if these Genealogies entries show any family linkages you haven't seen elsewhere, identify previously unspotted profile duplicate candidates, etc.)
When this works properly again I'll add some example screenshots.

I have now received the following from Support against the above-mentioned ticket (2071403):
'Your current information is being forwarded to an internal department that will review and action that they feel is appropriate.'
I will keep this thread up to date with progress on the remediation of this very useful function.

@Sam Sulser in Ashlee's absence would you be able to check progress on this please? The functionality is still broken, as above. Thanks.
