    What do you think should be done?

    You can add the child to the father and mother without a marriage relationship and you can make that entry private, if you wish.

    @Julee Hicks

    If you want to document the enslavement, there is an option under "Other Relationships."

    If you wish to document that the slave owner was the biological parent, then you can connect the child or children to the biological parents, presumably the slave owner and an enslaved female:

    Please be aware that Child born to a slave from a slave owner as father, who has a father figure in his life, does not need to give up that father. The slave owner can be added as a biological father in the same manner as any other father. Please let us know if you have questions on how choose to handle this situation. I find truth can be the most healing.
