I have started a Family Group - I have gotten 6 of the family members in the Group plus I have added some photo that I want to share with them. But When I went to add only that Family's part of my tree - it added my whole tree! I can not figure out how to delete the other parts that don't belong on this Group's tree or delete the whole thing and start over or what! Very frustrated and spend way too much time!!! can someone please help??? Thx

Please note that the vast majority of the people in Family Tree are deceased and thus are public to all users. They can be seen whether you are viewing the shared FamilySearch Tree, or any Family Group Tree.

The only people who are unique to your FamilySearch Tree or your FGT are the relatively few private people (typically those are just the Living people, but in some rare cases a deceased person can be private).

So once you have connected the private people in your FGT to the same deceased public people as you see in your FamilySearch Tree, then your two trees will look very similar, since the only difference will be in the private (mostly living) people.

@Alan E. Brown shared an important note about Family Groups vs your Family Tree. Please see his comment in this post….and also, Please Don't Delete Your Family Tree!

Additionally, if you are running into more challenges, we have a Community Group called Family Group Trees. The moderator of that group can help you with anything!
