Why do I get hints for unrelated individual

    The hinting system uses an A.I. algorythm that checks data points which not only include names, but dates and locations and other data that may be similar if not correct. The computer may check for near name, locations, employment etc. in an attempt to find information. This requires us to check and verify any information obtained through the hint system. The article What do I do with record hints in Family Tree that are not a match? may have addition guidance.

    One other question…have you used the View Relationship link to see how you are related? It usually shows if the individual is related by marriage.
