Experience with in-person in Venetian records

I am interested in finding contact information for a genealogist who is physically in the Venice area. I will be in Venice at the end of September and sadly can only dedicate a day or so to my family's genealogy. I had a lead on someone that unfortunately fell through. Also, what should someone expect to pay for such services? I have never hired someone previously and have no idea.

The members to this group have always been very kind. I would love a recommendation and also any parameters as to what to expect to pay for these services.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that. I have been lucky enough to find my GGM's and her sisters' digital records from Venice. Nothing on paper for my GGGPs. It's hard to be in the city and not potentially explore the possibility of finding records. And, unfortunately, I don't speak Italian. Would a visit to the Venetian State Archives be worth it? Are military records kept in the same location? My GGGF served in what was similar to the army core of engineers. He was born in 1830 in Conegliano.

@Kimberly4848 I Googled "genealogist who is in the Venice area of Italy" and got several suggestions. Have you tried that too?

I did, but it seems like there are a lot of people who are more than willing to take your money. I was hoping someone knew a genealogist they could recommend but I didn't realize it was against the rules here. I may end up going the route you suggested.Thank you for the response.

For prep, you (or they) can check the Venice draft registers (https://leva.archiviodistatovenezia.it), Antenati (https://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.it), and YourRoots (https://yourroots.com/search-record/country). That’ll make your one day much more productive.
