Researching since 2009 and not proficient in reading or writing Spanish, I have learned to decipher names and various penmanship. Many names are placed by using SOUNDEX. Many are born with one name, yet when Baptised they are given a saint or church name in additionto birth name. We have beginning researchers posting without knowing they should look for similarities of names. This is why FS has one person with several ID NUMBERS.
I am trying to MERGE into one ID. Many families all have same names, yet they are not related to one researcher. You must look for grandparents names within documents to confirm.

@Linda Hindes6 helping patrons to do better research, and to help build a more accurate tree is and always will be an ongoing effort. The community has a Latin America and Caribbean Research group. Maybe as you identify individuals who are struggling, help us to help them do better research by referring them to this and other resources that you find helpful is researching different areas and cultures.
Also, since you are doing many merges, are you finding the new Merge tool helpful? What differences, good or bad are you seeing between the old and new merge?
Thank you again :)
