I wonder why AI (and why we reviewing it) is spending time indexing indexes with only names and page numbers. We humans never indexed those.

I doubt the program is sophisticated enough to understand context and is just processing everything it's given.

Is it actually indexing, yet, though? I thought Full Name Review was about teaching AI to detect full names accurately, as a stepping stone to the actual indexing (the Spanish stuff being several steps ahead of the English). Which would also be why Full Name Review is getting people to check the same name over and over again from different places on the image.

It's taking AI an awfully long time to learn since they've been using it for years. We stopped indexing U.S. obituaries years ago because it went to AI. AI is getting even very clearly written and printed writing wrong. And many times obvious random printed words on a document that are clearly not names are indexed… like "film", "recorded", "Dec., 1, 1942", etc. And after all this time it still doesn't know that Jr. is a suffix.
