Duplicate Sources on Individual's Page

@John R Davies41 I took a look at the marriage record on Ancestry and its not for Julia and Minor. For a start, I think you should delete all the duplicate marriage records and write a note explaining why.

@maryellenstevensbarnes1, that Ancestry record is for a different couple. The county and date are different from those of the duplicate records in FS.
@John R Davies41, I did a record search in the FS collection Georgia, County Marriages, 1785-1950. The 29 duplicate records for Julia Payne and Lee Watts aren't exactly the same. One has a town of McGinnis and all the others have a town of Bartow; some of them have a date of 7 December 1887 and the others just have a year 1887.
I've also checked some other names on that page of the list. All of them have a similar number of duplicate entries in the index. Then I checked a few names on other random pages from the start to the end of the printed list. They all had about 20 to 30 duplicate index entries.
This would seem to be a similar scenario to one that was posted in the community a few weeks ago. That was related to a collection of records for Czech church books, I think.
@SerraNola, is this in your territory? I've searched in the community posts for a reference to this collection, but I didn't find any.

@JulianBrown38 Exactly, my thought is that whomever attached these sources may not have taken time to do their research thoroughly, also I used the Given Name: Minor Waits and "Bartow" is both a town and a county in Georgia.

@John R Davies41 @JulianBrown38 This is not the same issue as the Czech church books in which each record showed multiple indexing. In this case there are 30 films of marriage certificates for Bartow County, Georgia, in alphabetical order. At the beginning of each of these films is the index that you see duplicated 27 times for Lee Watts and Julia Payne. The index for each film begins with the first surname for that film, but goes all the way to Z. Thus, with a surname beginning with W, the result is 27 times indexed. Although I found two or three duplications in other counties, I believe Bartow is the only one that needs attention to avoid adding an excessive number of sources to Family Tree.
I will suggest to engineering that the index for the first film (which includes A to Z) be split off and the duplicated indexing (of the index) be removed from the other films.

@SerraNola I encountered a similar number of duplicated marriage indexes in Walton County, Georgia this week. An example is on my cousin, profile LHPF-BPR, with at least 15 marriage sources from 1891.

Thank you. I also discovered the problem in Oglethorpe County. Hopefully, that's the extent of it.
BTW, only ten of your duplicates were from the multiple filming of the index. The others are various images of the license from the marriage packet and one was the actual certificate. Of course, there would have been more duplicates had the surname been at the end of the alphabet.

Yes, agree "only" 10 are from the indexes. 😎
