When using Search in Memories / Gallery, I get an error "Active filters are hiding the Memories..."

It seems that, whenever I do a search in Memories/Gallery, I get this same error message: "Active filters are hiding the Memories in this collection."

The thing is, as you can see in the attached screenshot, I have no filters checked. Do you have advice?

Yes. This is a known issue.

If you use the search box in the Gallery, and you enter something not in your Gallery, then it gives you the strange error message.

That message is being fixed.

In my testing, though, the search box seems to be working fine. Please let me know if you are running into problems with the search box that has not been discussed.

Amber, I am grateful for your attention.

I'm having a different experience than you describe. I tested your thesis by first refreshing my Gallery web page, then typing in a word I know occurs very frequently in the titles and writings of the history I have uploaded to my gallery. When I hit "Enter," the search box does not respond at all, as if the page is frozen. But I fact, the rest of the page functions just fine. So the problem seems to be unique to the search box.

Sorry for my delay in response. And thank you for providing more detail. The Memories Team and I will poke around with this problem a bit more…we'll see if we can figure out what is going on. Hopefully, we can find a fix.

I wanted to check on this issue once more….Please let me know if you are still having problems with your Gallery search box.

BUT….as you test, can you please make sure you are in the correct section of your Gallery. What I mean is, the search will only respond to where you are currently at in your Gallery.

For example: If you are in an Album (using your image above), then the search box and the filters will only search images in that specific Album. If you are in your Archive, the search box and the filters will apply only to the Archive. Same with your Gallery; the search box and the filters will only apply to the Gallery.

So, if you are in an Album, but you are searching for something in your Gallery, then the search box won't work appropriately, and you will be given the error message that you show above: "Active filters are hiding the memories in this collection."

Amber, again: super-grateful for your attention.

OK, here's my latest test. You will note that I am in the "Overall" Gallery here—not in a particular album. I searched a term that only occurs once, and only in one album. It was found and displayed just fine:

But notice what happens when I go into the specific album in which my search term, "KGB" actually lives:

I'm getting the same error message as before, even though I know for sure that there is one PDF containing "KGB" in the diary album above.

To be sure, I tested it several times with different search terms. Every time I was in the "Overall Gallery" or Memories, the search was successful. But every time I was in the album where I know the search term is in the title of a PDF, I got the above error message.
