Merging parents
In the previous experience, if an individual had two parent relationships: one with the mom and the dad together and one with just the mom or dad by themselves. I could merge the duplicate parent, but refuse the parent relationship with only one parent. See these two screenshots. The first shows in the merge view how I am getting two sets of children, one with the spouse and one with no spouse. The second screenshot shows the end result. I now have an extra step to remove the child from the parent relationship with just the father. In the old merge experience, I didn't have to take this extra step.

I have the same concern although my most recent case involves excluding an incorrect parent . . .
The old format had an UNDO button for families being merged in step 2 of 3, but no such button exists with the new experience.

I came to register this exact concern — thank you for describing it so well! I miss the ability to refuse the "single parent" relationship when there is already a relationship to BOTH parents.

@Forrest Emmett Thank you for your feedback.
While this is a valid case to "refuse" or "drop" a relationship, we found that the majority of relationships that people dropped, were not valid. This results in bad data.
We would like to get to a point where we can smartly drop relationships like this one, without allowing more messes to be created. We aren't in a position to do that quite yet.
Right now, our recommendation in this case is to do the cleanup of this extra relationship before or after merging.
Thanks again!1
