How do I report errors for individuals records?

I recently found via DNA who my wife's grandfather actually was. There is a tree that contains a man by this name, however, the facts are bogus. They show a Civil War record for a man born in 1900s (not possible). An individual shows as having died in 1925, however, I have a marriage license dated 1927. This record also shows residency 2 or 3 times in a different location after 1930.

In short I'm seeing records for 3 different men of the same name combined into one person.

Some of the confusion probably is because there were two men of the same name born the same year to different families with a fathers of the same name and mothers with similar nicknames (but different first names).

This occurs quite often. Care needs to be taken to remove wrong records and/or merges and replace it with the correct information. In the process if you build up the trees of the the other members and their families the problem being brought back together is unlikely. If you would like more information on how to go about doing this feel free to ask and give us a link to the person you are referring to.

    For GXTV-R6D Conrad W Voltz 1906-Deceased

Removed death date and disconnected pension records that actually belonged to

    KZZD-436 Conrad Volz 1845–1898

    Married to Salomea Haas

Pension included 1925 which was not actually a death date but a pension date and included wife's name and there was another pension record that matched all the details of Conrad Volz

It was a Voltz vs Volz error by someone

The 1905 birth document actually lists the exact birthday and address ... which is same address on 1910 census ... so believe mothers last name is just written with similar different name on document and are correct parents ... note 1910 census siblings match 1920 census siblings as well … so believe current remaining documents are all for same person

FamilySearch allows more than on set of parents to go along with a name. I know this in my case because I have both my adopted and bio families connected to me. Just click on add parent to the child in question. After that you can add comments.

Jeff Wheat, Yes thanks, I am aware. I have multiple trees I maintain and have several instances where an individual was listed as a child of a person who was really an adopted parent or only a parent by DNA. I've figured out how to attach both the biological parent and the adopted/DNA parent to the same child.

A tree, thanks for the updates. That will help maybe others not confusing the 3 men. I found the same errors here and on Ancestry as well. Oh, sorry, just realized I am logged into my account and not my wife's.

A Tree, I'm researching our Conrad Voltz b.1905 more to try to determine exactly when he died. Rumor is that sometime after the 1927 marriage license he'd committed suicide, but I am finding newspaper articles for 1930 and later listing a Conrad Voltz in Ohio and PA. Now to determine if this is the same person or yet another Conrad Voltz.
