How do I delete a middle name in the records that is incorrect?

    It all depends on what you mean by a record. The word is used for many different things on FamilySearch.

    In the true sense, a record is the image of an original - census, birth, death, marriage. If the name is wrong there, it should not be edited.

    If the original image has the right name, but the index is wrong (misspelled, perhaps), most times that can be edited.

    If it is an index-only item, with no image, then that cannot be edited, since it would be impossible to verify if the original image had the correct information or if the clerk or priest had made an error.

    If you mean a profile in the tree, those can be edited, except in the case of the few Read-Only profiles.
