    Have you tried Full Text Search? It's in labs and is so great for finding naturalization (and other) records. Here's the link: https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/full-text

    Using Full text search I found a record that looks like it's your grandmothers. You can see it here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSMV-XQCG-J

    @theresa berio -

    @Ashlee C. has found the right form for you and her advice to use Full Text Search is excellent advice. If you really want to know why you couldn't find her record on the film you were looking at, then there are a couple of things to know. (Grab a cup of strong coffee…)

    Firstly, no, the forms are not in date order - when you see descriptions like "Naturalization Records, cert no. XXXX to YYYY", then it's a good bet that the images are in certificate number order. And when I went to the film that you had suggested (7774289), yes, the images did look like they were in certificate order.

    So, on the card that you attached above, what is the certificate number? It's squiggle-26401. Here's where you have to do a bit of guess work - looking at the certificate numbers on the film that you suggested, they all appear to begin with "5", so I guessed that the squiggle was a "5" and her petition number was 526401. (At that point it was a guess that I still had to prove one way or another).

    However, petition number 526401 isn't on that film - looking in the FS Catalogue, petition 526401 looks as if it should be on film 7776815 instead. When I went to that and searched around, I found petition 526401 on image 1333 of 1446 and (fortunately for my sanity) it was indeed Anna Klepadlo.

    The bit that is really obscure is what the dates mean. The date that you were looking at was 8 Sep 1955. You presumably used that date to deduce that the film was 7774289. A very sensible deduction. However, it appears that the date that drives the filing is not the date of admission (8 Sep 1955) but the date that the oath was administered - 29 October 1954, the previous year.

    And all that illustrates why Full Text Search is a far more sensible option!

    But, if Full Search isn't yet available for your topic, then you might very well need to do something like what I did above. Note that a lot of what I did is just trial and error to browse around to see what order stuff is in, and then looking in the FS catalogue to see what the possible films are. And I guess that - where dates are concerned - the most important (from the person's viewpoint) date might not be the one that stuff is filed under.

    Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate you both assisting me and for explaining the correct process, i never would have found it. Is there also a way to get a copy of the certificate?
