Somehow the option to search for items in New York County, New York has gone missing. If you are at https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog

and enter "New York County, New York", and choose it from the drop-down list, you get an empty page with no contents. It seems like someone did not understand that New York County and New York City were not the same thing.

At the top there is

See: part of New York

But that just gets you the zillion listings for the whole state — you used to be able to just get New York County.

I hope this can be fixed as not having it makes things much more difficult when working in old New York.

Thanks

Jeanne Ross

    Jeanne,

Manhattan is an alternate name for New York County as well as a borough of NYC. Manhattan also is not found in Part of New York, nor in Places within New York City:

However if you put Manhattan in the place search criteria, you can see places within Manhattan:

@IamMTW, can you bring this to the attention of engineering?
