I have my fan chart finished to 8 generation. When I return I have had someone remove my input. This has happened several time. How can someone remove this from my tree. Is there a way I can lock my tree so no one has access

On FamilySearch this is no "my tree" or "your tree." The ultimate goal is one profile for each person who has ever lived. That means we all work together on a single, collaborative tree.

If you feel someone has edited in error, you can contact that person by clicking on his or her username (look in the ChangeLog) to send a private message.

Ok Thanks for that info. How do you tell who is removing the info?? I have the info that is being removed. That Person needs to send a message to state why it is removed This is my family tree, so some more info needs to be given before removal

I looked at the couple that was removed. It states that I did with no one else in the removal. So how can I chat with the one that is removing it. I am new to this so any help is appreciated

If you could provide the couple's name and PIDs that were removed, we would be able to give you a better answer.

@Marsbranch A PID is a Person ID. It typically looks something like P4LZ-Q2J. It is the identifier that is connected to a particular person profile in Family Tree. When you give someone a PID, then they can unambiguously go to that person and you can be sure you're talking about the same person.

So in this case, where you are concerned that some couple has been removed from your ancestors in the Tree, you would find the child who no longer has the parents, or the husband who no longer has his wife, or whatever the specific problem is, and post in this conversation the PID for that person who got disconnected from spouse or parents.

Hi Okay I found them. The PID is the 7 character identifier. David Dishman is P3ZM-V8W and Sarah Weedon is G84X-GVM. You will find this identifier by their name in your fan chart and on the person pages. It is unique to the person.

In reviewing the changes, you are the only person who has made any changes to these two people since 13 Oct 2024. A user by the contact name of (name removed) made some changes on 13 Oct 2024. If you want to contact her, you can go to the latest changes for Sarah Weedon, G84X-GVM. Go down to the changes made in October and click on her name. You will be able to send a message to her.

Aside from that, is your tree as you want it now?
