German records search

Since the catalog search interface changed, I have not been able to pull up records for any towns in Germany. The town names come up, in multiple variations, but every version I check says "Catalog Search Results (0)". I know the records are there because I've often used them in the past, and I can pull up individual films for these same towns when I search by film number.

Is there something I'm doing wrong in the searches or a trick to pulling the records?

An example would be the town of Holdorf, which shows up in the place searches with no records now, but if you search for the film with the town's Catholic church records, 0909915, the film still comes up.

Instead of searching by Place, I often use search by Keyword to find an elusive location/record set.
